The authorities say that the wife of Senator Joseph Biden participated in a traffic accident in New Castle County, Delaware, Interstate 95 to Tuesday morning, but no serious injuries were reported.
Saying the national police, Jill Biden was driving a BMW 2001 in a southerly direction on the left lane, when a tractor-trailer drew in their wake and offered his vehicle.
Biden has taken to Christiana Hospital, where she was treated for small injuries and released.
The driver of the tractor and trailer, Duane Vanderbosh of Perryville, Maryland, was not injured. He was cited for driving lightly.

A spokesman for the senator said he could not comment on the family of things.
